Patent Office

Posted on 2011/04/29 by Manu

The drawing shows a patent office, with long shelves with a lot of documents on them, and someone behind the office window to greet people. A line has formed in front of the window and a person with a blue shirt is speaking to the patent office employee. In the first panel this person says: 'My idea is a cylindrical device that would take advantage of capillarity to propel a small amount of tinted fluid stored in a replaceable container onto a flat wood pulp surface'. Second panel, the patent office employee responds: 'You mean, like, a pen?'. Third panel: both characters are silent. Fourth panel, the guy in the blue shirt says 'Yeah, kind of.' and the patent office employee replies: 'Granted.'.
